This product really insulates well. My great room has 2 patio doors so in order to get through the Ohio winter comfortable, I installed this product on both. It was easy to install, my great room was instantly more comfortable. It is nice and clear so I can still see out. Most importantly, my energy bill was lower than the average home accord to my energy company. I will get this again next heating season. -- GREAT!
This product is totally worth the time and money. Last year my january heating bill was $462 and this January is was $292-unbelieveable!!!! And this january was much, much colder and snowier than last year. I did have some trouble applying it to our patio door, but next year I feel confident that I can get the plastic on easier- it just takes some practice. -- Excellent! Lowered my heat bill by hundreds!!!!!!
The installation was done fairly easily by a single person but the first problem came at the projecting handle of the door which was difficult to work around and could not be easily removed. There was a problem at the bottom of the door which I did not anticipate. The door is in a lower level room so the floor under the carpet is concrete. I could not nail in a base as the instructions stated nor could I attach the tape to the bottom frame of the door. I ended up putting the tape on a loose piece of molding, sticking the film to it and wedging it into the door frame. Not great but the draft is certainly reduced! -- patio door insulator
We applied the plastic film to all the windows in our small home. The effect was noticeable immediately. The drafts were gone and the ambient temperature when up. It's much easier to heat now. We applied blue masking tape to the casings and sills before using the two-sided tape that came with each kit. Hopefully the two layers of tape can be removed this Spring without damage to the paint. We will reapply next year. -- Worked as described
This kit is easy to use and works well to stop drafts from coming through doors or windows. I used this kit on a pair of very large, single-pane windows and the difference was amazing. 3M is the only brand I would recommend, don't waste your time with other brands. -- Easy way to stop cold drafts
